Privacy policy

What happens when you browse this site, answer the analytics question, save a theme preference or email us.

Lawn Game Rules publishes this site. This policy describes what the site does with your data today.

Visiting the site

Your browser requests pages, fonts and diagrams from Lawn Game Rules. Our hosting provider processes technical request data, such as your IP address, requested URL and browser information, to deliver and protect the site. Choosing another diagram layout requests another drawing; the diagram control sends no separate analytics event.

Our own site code sets no cookies. We load no advertising or third-party widget scripts. The one third-party service is Google Analytics, and it runs only after you allow it.

Google Analytics and your choice

On your first visit a notice at the foot of the page asks whether we may use Google Analytics. Until you choose, nothing from Google loads and nothing is stored beyond your answer.

If you choose Allow analytics, your browser loads Google’s tag and Google Analytics records which pages you read, how you arrived, and device, browser and approximate location details derived from network information. Google sets cookies to tell one visit from the next and processes the data to give us usage reports. We use those reports to see which games and sections readers use. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and advertising storage stays switched off in the tag’s consent settings. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.

If you choose Decline, the tag never loads and Google receives nothing from this site.

Either answer is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key consent so the notice does not return on every page. Clearing site data removes it. You can also change your answer here at any time; the notice will show again on this page.

Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on blocks the tag in supported desktop browsers independently of the choice above.

Your theme preference

The theme control saves your light or dark preference in your browser. It stays there until you change it, clear browser storage or your browser removes it. We do not receive or sync that choice.

Following a source link takes you to the cited publisher, whose privacy practices apply there.

The email link on our contact page opens your mail application. Your email provider and our support mailbox process the message. We have no contact form or form database on this site.

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information you include. We use that information to respond and investigate your request. Avoid sending sensitive personal information.

Privacy questions and requests

Use our contact page to ask about information you have shared with us or request its correction or deletion. Your rights depend on the law that applies to you; we may need to confirm that a request concerns your own information.

Policy updates

We will update this page before enabling advertising or another integration that changes these operations.
