Where does the tape measure go?
Check the endpoints as well as the distance. A throwing gap leaves out the equipment at either end.
Cornhole: 27 ft (8.23 m) between board fronts
- A marked boundary
- For kubb, mark a pitch 26.25 ft (8 m) by 16.4 ft (5 m). Those measurements cover the playing rectangle.
- A throwing line
- For Ladder Golf, measure 15 ft (4.57 m) from the toss line to the target. The brand's distance starts where you throw.
About this reference
Every court size, throwing distance and scoring value here comes from a published rulebook. We name the edition we read, record the day we retrieved it, and point at the section that carries the rule. Each game page lists those documents at the end, so you can open a source and check a ruling in context.
Each source carries a label that says what kind of document it is: a governing body’s current rulebook, a league or tournament committee’s rules for its own events, the equipment maker’s instructions, or, where no closer document exists, a republished copy or an explanation of the game. Sources & method sets out how we choose between them and what we do when a body issues a new edition.
Lawn Game Rules publishes this reference and is not a governing body. We do not write the rules, sanction events or certify equipment. We read what the bodies publish, draw the layouts to scale and mark where two codes disagree. About says who publishes the site and how a game earns a page.
